For contractors

Your good work leaves no trace today.

You do the job, they pay, they forget. Two years later the owner cannot remember who that reliable person was — and you have nothing to show a new client. Housefolio is the logbook of the property, and your work stays in it, credited to you.

How owner-approved jobs appear on your reference page.

How it works for you

  1. Register, or get a link from your client. Register on the contractor page with your email — or open the link your client sends you. Nothing to install: it works in your phone browser.
  2. Send the work sheet. After the job: a short description, the price, photos and the invoice if you have one. It goes to your client by email.
  3. Your client accepts it. The job becomes part of their home’s service book, under your name — with a stamp. Every accepted job counts towards your reference profile.

What’s in it for you

Proof, not self-promotion

Your jobs are approved by the people who paid for them. That carries different weight than a star rating anyone can write — or buy.

It costs nothing

Registering and sending work sheets is free. If your client sends you a link, you do not even need an account.

Nothing is lost

The profile builds even if you ignore it today. Show up years later and you do not start empty — your jobs are already there.

Fewer arguments later

What you did, when, for how much, with photos. If a question comes up six months later, nobody argues from memory.

What we know about you, and who sees it

What we record

  • What you enter when you register or submit: name, trade, email, phone
  • Your email address — it is how we know a job is yours. A name would not do: there are fifty John Smiths. It is also how you claim your profile later.
  • Approved jobs: what it was, when, in which town, and the price you entered
  • Your photos and invoice — the files you uploaded. Nothing about you from anywhere else.
  • Your client’s email address — only if you send them a work sheet yourself. We email them once, and remind them at most once.

Who sees what

  • The owner you worked for: everything you submitted for that one job, including your contact details
  • Your public profile, if you switch it on: your name, trade, towns and number of verified jobs. Never your contact details, prices or the owners’ names.
  • You, on the link: only that one job — not the rest of the owner’s logbook, and not the exact address

If you would rather not have a profile at all, send an email and we stop building it. No account needed.

Your profile

Enter your email on the contractor page. If owners already documented jobs with you, you get a link to claim that profile; if not, a link to start one. Set a password, and your work history is at gethousefolio.com/pro.

From there you can send a work sheet to your client after every job — they accept it in their own Housefolio, and it counts towards your references.

Where this is going

A contractor search is being built where the top result is not whoever paid for the ad, but whoever has documented, owner-approved work. It is not live yet — its foundation is what goes into the logbooks today.

Payment through the app and one-click compliant invoicing are on the same road.
